Dear Kindergartener,
We hope that you are enjoying a wonderful, busy summer with your family and friends!! We’re sure you and your parents are excited that you are so grown up and will be entering Kindergarten in September!
There are several things that we would like to tell you about kindergarten:
First, we’re asking mom and dad to make sure that you bring a nice big backpack to school every day. Remind them that you will be bringing home large projects and other important things that will not fit in a little backpack, so you will need a good-sized backpack just like the big kids use!
To keep classwork/important papers neat, you will need one2-pocket folder, labeled with your name and “Mrs. Zykorie’s Class” to keep in your backpack. Plastic folders work best, and stay strong throughout the year.
We will do lots of writing, so please bring in 2 pencils, and a nice big eraser. The thick pencils work well for little fingers, so please get the thick pencils!
Please also bring a pack of large Elmer’s glue sticksand 1 box of crayola crayons (24 pack or less).
In addition, we are going to ask mom and dad to buy 1 plastic pencil box (red for the AM class and blue for the PM class)to store all of your things in.
Each child will also need to bring in a pack of black dry erase markers. The thinner ones are prefered.
To help keep us all healthy, we are asking mom and dad to donate one (1) container of disinfecting wipes, (ie. Clorox or Lysol wipes) if you are in the AM CLASS and a roll of paper towels if you are in the PM class.
Finally, we are going to tell mom and dad to pack you a snack each day in your lunch box. The snack can be a small treat and a drink for you to enjoy during snack time.
Please send all of your supplies in on the first day of school.
