By the beginning of first grade, students should have knowledge of the following concepts:

4. Identify numbers 1-10.

5. Know your address: house number, street, town, state, and country.

6. Know your phone number.

7. Know your birthday: date and year.

8. Know your shapes: circle, square, rectangle, and triangle.

9. Know your colors: red, orange, yellow, blue, green, purple, pink, brown, black, and white.

10. Know all of your kindergarten sight words.
