My Philosophy of Eduction

As an educator, it is my responsibility to help empower my students with the knowledge, skills, and values they will need in order to reach and achieve their goals. Children will lead this country in the future; therefore, a well-developed mind is crucial.

Absorbing knowledge through reading can occur within any classroom. As a teacher, I feel that reading should be incorporated into every subject across the curriculum. The skills a child learns from reading will be used for the rest of their lives. In the classroom, teachers have an obligation to help each and every student to learn necessary content to the best of their ability. I am a firm believer that learning does not just consist of reading, writing, math, science, health and social studies. Learning also means experiencing the interesting attriubutes that life has to offer.

Through my experiences, I have learned that many students learn better with a hands-on approach. The only way to master a skill is to practice the skill and correct the limitations. When children work together, the learning is interactive. I believe that students should all feel accepted and supported in the classroom to allow for comfort and confidence in their schoolwork and social interactions.

My philosophy is a combination of methodologies and my experiences. As I encounter new students each year, I hope to be able to support or modify this philosophy as needed. My enthusiastic attitude and love of cihldren only add to my qualifications.
